Punctuation Semicolon : The semicolon represents a pause of greater importance than a comma. Let us learn the use of the semicolon. It is used:
(1) To separate words or phrases in a list, when they contain commas. For example,
(2) To separate lengthy coordinate clauses where the conjunction is omitted. For example,
Punctuation Colon : it marks a still more complete pause than that expressed by the Semi Colon. It is used sometimes with a dash after it :
